Last week, at the press conference in the Goto Islands, we finally unveiled how local schoolchildren’s creativity became part of something extraordinary—their artwork now decorates our AR1100 tidal turbine!
What began as a simple invitation for students to draw their visions of tidal energy and sustainability has become a powerful symbol of community, innovation, and the future of clean power—engaging the next generation, fostering awareness, and making them part of this journey. Seeing their artwork displayed on the turbine was a fantastic moment, filled with lots of excitement, pride, and a shared belief in a greener future.
Thanks to Kyuden Mirai Energy, Ministry of Environment, Toyo Construction, Goto Transportation, Proteus Operations Japan and all our suppliers, this incredible artwork will go subsea in the Naru Straights, Japan, where our AR1100 will generate 1.1MW of clean energy – helping to power the local Goto Islands and supporting Japan’s commitment to renewable energy.
